The Red Polo

I was happily cruising along this bumpy road, overtaking an overloaded pickup, and feeling very proud about the performance of my engine up the hill. I felt more than saw the red coming up on my right side.

When the car drew level, she slowed down just long enough to give me an irritated look (making it clear that as far as she was concerned, I was the overloaded pickup), before revving on.

Mimi nani. You know how we do. I took off after the Polo and its ‘how dare she’ driver. She obviously knew the road better than I did, and, I guess, it’s not a mere Nissan. Before long, I was breaking all kinds of things under the bonet, and my shock-less tyres were crying out for help. My pursuit lasted maybe 3 minutes.

Point is…this love (and life) thing can be made to feel like you just need to catch up with the Polo. Actually, no. Run your race. If you try to run just to catch up, you’ll soon find yourself with injuries and expenses you didn’t plan. Be confident in the knowing that You will get there when YOU are supposed to get there.
